Mixed Media Adventure: |
|
The theme for our mixed media adventure will be "Postcards from Alaska."
|
|
|
|
Join us on our Alaskan voyage as we explore various aspects of creative sketchbooks, mixed media, and hand stitching by making a series of mixed-media postcards that explore a variety of techniques and ideas.
Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn will co-teach, as will Patricia Bolton and Beryl Taylor. Each student will be encouraged to interpret the Alaskan landscape in small sketchbooks as the ships sails its way up north, and in class we'll be exploring these observations and color schemes in unexpected ways with Lutradur, WonderUnder, foiling, dyed synthetic fabrics, heat guns, and other media.
We will be placing these postcards in an accordion-style fabric book that you can display once home. No sewing machines will be used, but kits and handouts will be distributed at the opening reception. An additional supply list of art materials to bring will be furnished in early June.
